Budd Van Lines’ first priority is your successful relocation. Sometimes that involves a claim for loss or damage. When this happens we work to provide the quickest, most equitable claim settlement possible.

Instructions to Claimant for Presentation of Claim for Loss and Damage

You must notify Budd Van Lines of any residential property damage within 72 hours of the occurrence and will have 30 days to file a written claim.

Before completing the claim form submission:

Start the claim process as soon as possible. You have a time limit from the date of your delivery (maximum of 9 months) to file your claim for lost or damaged household goods in writing. As stated above, damage to a residence must be submitted 30 days after the 72 hour notification.

Please retain all items you are claiming Items must be kept available for inspection until the case is closed. Do not attempt to repair any items prior to them being inspected.

Claims for electronic and mechanical apparatuses must be supported with estimates of repair or itemized repair bills in order for Budd Van Lines to consider the claim.

Since only one claim form may be submitted, it is important to unpack all of the boxes and inspect every item.

Budd Van Lines’ liability ends at the location where it was delivered by the driver/crew. All damaged items must be claimed from and inspected in the location in which they were delivered. This applies to deliveries to self-storage, on-site or off-site garages, within the residence, and to a new residence. Moving an item from the location in which it was delivered could void your claim.
