Exclusive to Budd Van Lines, the Eco-Crate System stands out as an environmentally friendly, secure, and cost-effective alternative to traditional wood crating. This innovative system is designed for ultimate cost containment, offering a claims-free record of 98%. Having successfully transported hundreds of thousands of items, from basic glass tops and TVs to priceless original Picasso paintings valued at over $3 Million, the Eco-Crate System exemplifies safety and reliability in every move.
EPA Smartway Certified
Budd is a certified partner with the EPA SmartWay Program. SmartWay’s freight emissions assessment tools and reports help us benchmark, monitor, and improve the environmental performance of our fleet. SmartWay allows us to have a baseline or benchmark to track our carbon footprint, and provides us with the metrics and data we need to make better decisions that reduce our impact. Budd is one of the few moving companies participating in the EPA Smartway program.
Warehouse Lighting
Budd Van Lines prioritizes sustainability with Warehouse Sky Lights, reducing the need for electric lighting during work hours. Our warehouses feature energy-efficient LED lighting with motion detectors, cutting electric consumption by 35% to 75%. This initiative has led to a remarkable 61% reduction in carbon emissions across our offices and warehouses. Additionally, timed heating and air conditioning units further optimize energy use across our facilities nationwide.
Recycling
Budd Van Lines is committed to environmental sustainability. We use 100% reusable packing materials and recycle 88% of all cartons from moves, minimizing waste and contributing to a greener future
Budd locations are equipped with recycling balers and shredding bins. Sturdy pre-used cartons are provided to customers upon request. We recycle/reuse over 3 million pounds of cartons per year.
Floor Protection
Budd Van Lines prioritizes eco-friendly floor protection by using reusable masonite sheets and neoprene floor runners instead of cardboard. This not only ensures effective protection but also saves approximately 25 pounds of material per job, totaling 187,500 pounds of corrugated material saved annually. Our commitment to sustainable practices reflects our dedication to both customer service and environmental responsibility.
