Being a good corporate citizen is more important than ever—to our customers, our employees, the community, and the environment:
It’s the responsible way to do business.

Budd Van Lines is an industry leader in efforts to reduce our carbon footprint and positively impact the environment. Our Eco-Crate System is the centerpiece of our green initiative, featuring light, reusable and recyclable containers. Budd employs aggressive fuel consumption measures, a robust recycling program, save thousands of cardboard cartons by using Masonite floor protection and energy-saving office procedures—and whenever possible we partner with vendors who follow sustainable business practices. Our conservation and energy-efficient measures reduce waste, protect the environment, and save money for our customers!

Stewardship of the Environment

Eco-Crate System

The Eco-Crate System introduced by Budd in 2011 is cost savings solution tied to sustainability. – We reduce the wood and cardboard produced with traditional crating. – We have reduced our usage of mirror cartons by 90%.

Energy Conservation

Dramatically decreases wattage through use of Thin Clients/Citrix Technology/VM Ware Storage and energy efficient fluorescent lighting at corporate offices

Masonite Floor Protection

By using Masonite rather than cardboard boxes, our Driver Teams provide better floor protection and save thousand of cartons per year.

Recycling

Budd Van Lines recycles over 300 tons of packing material per year .

Paper Free Software and Scanners

Investment in high speed scanners and paperless document software reduced our paper usage by 50%.

Video Survey

By using video surveys we have cut the surveyors driving mileage in half saving 2,700 gallons of fuel. Lower fuel … fewer cars on the road. Safer and less stressful our employees and more convenient for customers.

Commitment to the Community

Move for Hunger

Over 50 million individuals right here in the United States struggle to find their next meal; a staggering number that includes over 17 million children. Yet many people throw out non-perishable food when they move—food that can be delivered to a family in need. That’s why Budd Van Lines has partnered with Move for Hunger to support food banks across the U.S. Instead of throwing out non-perishable food, transferees can donate it to needy families.

Police Unity Tour

Budd Van Lines is active in our “home” communities as well. We pitched in to help the Franklin Township Policemen’s Benevolent Association during Police Unity Tour, honoring police officers who died in the line of duty. BVL provided a truck and driver to follow bicyclists from New Jersey to Washington, DC so that riders could store their bicycles during overnight stops along the way.

Angel Tree

Every year Budd van lines participates in the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program. The “company” adopts 30+ children to ensure they had warm coats and something fun to open on Christmas morning. BVL also participate in the Adopt a Family Program that focuses on their needs and includes adults.
