Vegetarians, please avert your eyes because this blog is all about a great American delicacy, the hot dog.

Did you know that between Memorial Day and Labor Day, Americans will consume 7 billion hot dogs? Independence Day alone will see over 150 million hot dogs devoured, enough dogs to stretch from our nation’s capital to Hollywood! No wonder it has garnered an official day!

As a long-distance moving company, we see more than our fair share of hot dog establishments, stands, or shacks and below are some of our favorites from the states we call home.

CALIFORNIA / Duff’s Doggz, San Diego

A no-frills hot dog stand known for its low prices and a wide array of state-inspired dogs. In addition to the usual suspects like New York and Chicago, there’s also a popular “islands” themed option topped with pineapple salsa.

GEORGIA / Brandi’s World-Famous Hot Dogs. Marietta and Cartersville

One look at the amazing reviews and it’s no surprise that Brandi’s is indeed “world-famous.” Customers raved about the “best hotdog on planet earth” and “the best Southern-style dog around.” For the full Southern experience, be sure to order a sweet tea.

NEW JERSEY / Rutt’s Hut, Clifton

Their original process of frying causes the hot dog casings to crack and split, which has led to the nickname “Rippers”. The original roadside stand was opened in 1928. The relish is just as famous as the hot dogs.

 TEXAS / Angry Dog, Dallas

In a state known for bountiful offerings it certainly is hard to stand out, but Angry Dog does just that. Be sure to order their signature dish: a grilled Kosher hot dog slathered with chunky chili, shredded cheddar cheese, and onions.

WISCONSIN / Hot Dog Avenue, Wisconsin Dells

A huge hit with the locals and hot dog aficionados alike, the menu offers eight hot dog styles, with the most popular being the Green Bay Dog, which is made with melted cheddar cheese and chili.
