The Need for Healing

From the Budd Van Lines Senior Management Team:

“Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.” James Baldwin

Over the last several days, we have tried to listen, learn, and reflect.  Our hearts are broken over the horrific tragic death of George Floyd, and the many other Black Americans that came before him.  We pray for their families and all individuals impacted by discrimination and hatred throughout the Nation. We cannot even imagine the pain and fear that our Black community has faced for generations.

We, as a society, are in need of healing.  None of us have all of the answers, but we want to be part of the change.

Here is where the Budd family, and our entire organization stands:

Any and all acts of hate and bigotry go against everything we believe in and practice at Budd Van Lines.  We are proud of our diverse employees and believe that we all must stand against all forms of hate and racism. We are here to support our employees, clients, and our local and global communities.  One of our core Guiding Principles is to “Inspire Action” and we stand behind those protesting peacefully throughout our country.  We believe Black Lives Matter.

Budd will continue to foster our company as one of inclusion and equal status for all.  We are all human and we do not treat anyone different because of their race.

Many of us don’t have to worry about children, or family members being pulled over, and harassed just because of the color of their skin.  But we know this is true from the personal experiences of our black employees.  It breaks our hearts to think about one of our employees or drivers being pulled over and the feelings of fear, hurt and mistrust that this causes.

We thank our clients, employees and associates for their spirit of equality.
