-THON 2012
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Budd Van Lines was thrilled to help sponsor Tara Perpignan, step-daughter of employee Elizabeth Perpignan, in the 46-hour Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THON) once again has set a new record, raising $10,686,924.83 for the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital, surpassing last year's record $9.56 million.

Funds raised by THON go to support the Four Diamonds Fund and its pediatric cancer patients, families and researchers at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital who are working to find better treatments and, ultimately, cures for forms of cancer that afflict children. First held in 1973, THON has partnered with Four Diamonds Fund since 1977 and in that time has raised more than $88 million FTK -- "For The Kids."

More than 15,000 students participated in making THON 2012 happen – from more than 700 dancers who spent the entire weekend on their feet, to the thousands of students who helped them raise funds throughout the year, and thousands more who are volunteering during THON weekend to boost dancers' morale, keep them fed and entertained, make sure they stay safe and share the THON experience around the world via streaming video.

-Budd Van Lines assists the Franklin Township Policemen's Benevolent Association for the 2011 Police Unity Tour. Budd Van Lines driver Chris McIntyre followed members of the Franklin Township Police Department on a bicycle ride from Franklin Township, NJ to Washington, DC. This bicycle ride was originally organized with the goal of honoring Police Offices who have died in the line of duty and to bring about public awareness. To help achieve this goal, Budd Van Lines, provided a company straight truck to allow riders to store their bicycles overnight during stops along the way. All proceeds benefit the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.

Ray started out with Budd Van Lines as a national account salesman back in 1992, and was promoted to Vice President of National Sales in 1995. He held and excelled in that position until 2008 helping the company grow from $18 million dollars of sales in 1995 to almost $50 million of sales in 2008.
